A field trip to two high-rise construction sites in Frankfurt

As part of the Master’s lecture ‘High-Rise Construction’, we had the opportunity to visit two high-rise construction sites. In particular, the contrast between the ParX Towers revitalisation project – one of Frankfurt’s oldest high-rise buildings – and the new construction of the Central Business Tower, right in the heart of Frankfurt’s financial district, provided a fascinating comparison of developments in high-rise construction. Many thanks to our module lecturer, Dr Gerd Remmel from the engineering firm Remmel und Sattler, for organising the field trip.

Last Thursday, February 12, Federal Minister of Transport Patrick Schnieder, Dr. Michael Güntner (Autobahn GmbH), and Holcim CEO Thorsten Hahn visited the Circle Hub in Offenbach. The goal: to intensify the dialogue between politics, industry, and research on circular economy in the construction sector.
