As part of the course ‘Prefabricated Structures’, which we offer for Master's students, we visited the precast concrete plant of Dreßler Bau GmbH in Stockstadt am Main.

We were given a very informative tour of the production halls and storage areas, during which we learnt a lot about the company's wide range of products. On the one hand, we marvelled at structural prefabricated parts such as PI panels, roof beams and columns with moulded foundations. On the other hand, we were able to see various facade panels from the architectural concrete sector, which can be coloured in different ways on request and whose surfaces can be treated in different ways. We also visited the integrated concrete laboratory, where production controls for quality assurance, small specimen tests and concrete recipe development take place.

The many interesting and practical insights into the working methods of a precast concrete company enabled us to deepen our theoretical understanding and knowledge of precast concrete production acquired during the semester.
