Practical lectures on precast concrete construction

2025/02/13

As part of the Master's course ‘Prefabricated Structures’, our students were given valuable, practical insights into various areas of precast concrete construction through presentations by external speakers.

The series began with Christian Goldbrunner from BREMER, who presented detailed construction projects in a very engaging lecture and discussed the special challenges of large logistics buildings in precast construction.

Next, Dominik Wirtgen from Fischer Architects gave a lecture on “Building with Concrete Sandwich Elements” and inspired the audience by highlighting the urgency of sustainable construction.

In the third presentation, Torsten Jecke and Eric Ewert from Bau-Consult Hermsdorf presented the topic of BIM and digital processes in the planning of precast concrete elements. They demonstrated how digital twins are effectively used and what great benefits these technologies bring for all project participants.

We sincerely thank our highly skilled speakers for their commitment and their in-depth insights, which offer our students valuable support on their way into professional practice.

Special thanks also go to Mathias Tillmann from the Fachvereinigung Deutscher Betonfertigteilbau (FDB), who conducted the regular lectures and enriched the theory with practical examples, allowing our students to directly apply their knowledge to real construction projects.

A big thank you also to all the students for their active participation and their contribution to the success of the module. The exchange between theory and practice was a valuable experience for everyone.

We look forward to future collaborations!
