Content
The module teaches the basics of the various precast construction methods, the developments in the precast industry and special features, difficulties and possibilities of precast concrete structures. With the design and dimensioning of buildings made of precast elements, important components of structural planning are also taught. The module also deals with sustainability issues, such as the dismantlability of buildings, which is becoming increasingly important in the construction of future buildings.

- Production, transport and assembly of prefabricated components
- Design of (e.g. prestressed) prefabricated structures in accordance with DIN EN 1992-1-1/NA
- Tilting of precast trusses
- Joints and connections in precast construction
- Prestressed precast structures
- Fire protection design
- Sustainability in relation to prefabricated structures (e.g. dismantlability)

In addition to the course, discussion hours are offered by appointment during the lecture period.
Academic achievement / Assignment
One homework exercise must be completed, which counts for 30% of the overall grade for the module. (Submission of exercises as upload in Moodle)
In addition, attendance is compulsory on 2 lecture dates on which lectures are given by external speakers.

Duration: 90 min (30 min general questions without auxiliary means + 60 min calculation part with all common auxiliary means)
