Excursions play an important role in our understanding of good teaching. Here, students are given the opportunity to project theoretical knowledge onto practical application examples. Excursions consolidate existing knowledge and allow students to gain a broader understanding of the real-world applications of what often appears to be abstract teaching content.
A central component of our excursion programme is the annual 4-day Whitsun excursion (Pfingstexkursion), which we organise together with the RPTU in Kaiserslautern. This takes us to a different part of Germany or neighbouring countries every year and offers exciting insights into current projects away from everyday life.
Other day excursions are also an integral part of many courses. Thanks to intensive contacts with regional and national construction practice, we are able to provide our students with first-hand insights. Thematically appropriate to the relevant courses, students are thus shown the context of what they have learnt and the transfer into practice is facilitated.
Information on the various excursions and registration options will be shared in the relevant courses.
