The course Sustainable Constructions in Existing Building Stock, which is offered to Master's students, serves as an in-depth study of the special requirements for the restoration of solid construction.

Content

This course teaches the different building materials and the historical development of their properties. The construction in existing buildings is analyzed and evaluated using investigation methods appropriate to the building components. Another subject of the lecture is the elaboration of structural renovation concepts for buildings, considering various boundary conditions. In addition to the lecture construction in existing buildings is deepened in exercises hours and in a practical excursion.

Academic achievement / Assignment

Two homework exercises can be completed in voluntarily – bonus regulation: A grade improvement of 0.4 can be achieved. (Submission of exercises as upload in Moodle).

Duration: 90 min (45 min general questions without auxiliary means + 45 min calculation part with all common auxiliary means)
