The lectures and exercise hours will take place in presence in the summer semester 2024.
Content
This course teaches the design and construction of masonry structures. Both, special design approaches and structural details of masonry constructions are discussed according to the current standards. Moreover, the design of sustainable earth masonry structures and historical masonry structures are examined. In addition, a brief presentation of the basic principles of building physics relevant to masonry structures is given. In addition to the lecture the design of masonry is deepened in exercises hours and in a practical excursion.

- Design of reinforced and unreinforced masonry according to EC 6
- Design of earth masonry and historical masonry structures
- Fundamentals of building physics
- Special components and construction details
